even more birthday pics

more birthday pics

Tommy bahama is finally "free"

Tommy turned 3! Hip hip hooray! Let the potty training begin! We did a little family party for him and the next day he had a little friend party. There were no major melt downs and no one hit any one else! A total success. Happy birthday baby boy!

Go Jonny, Go Go GO!

Jonny is playing soccer now. He and the little girl with the bows in her hair are the best on the team. It's the funniest thing you've ever seen! One time the little bow-haired girl dribbled the ball all the way down field and just when she was about to score, Jonny steals her thunder and makes the goal. We were dying! Her mom is the coach and they are in our ward. They thought it was funny too!

What if you're parachute didn't open?

I just have to get this off of my chest. What would you do if your parachute didn't open when you jumped out of an airplane? Wouldn't you want to learn about that part of the excursion? What would you do if your epidural didn't work or came too late when you were in labor? Wouldn't you want to know what to do? Would you scream and swear and grab your man by the collar and yell "you did this to me!?" Wouldn't you rather be able to stay calm, breath, talk and maybe even laugh between contractions and actually know what to do?
There are a few people out there that think I'm anti-epidural. I'm not. I'm not a crazy hippy having my children in the mountains. I like to think that I'm not naive. I had an epidural so I know what it's like. The first time I was pregnant I learned everything I could about labor and delivery. I watched lots of videos on child birth and EVERY aspect of it (episiotomy, c-section, getting an epidural, natural, etc.). I read everything I could get my hands on. I'm not a doctor and I understand that every one's body is different, but I also believe that if you tell yourself your whole pregnancy that you're going to have a c-section, you will end up having one. If you tell yourself that your body cannot handle labor and all of it's phases, it will not. I understand that it CAN be physically impossible to deliver a baby without medical intervention. But mostly, I'd say that it's not.
I'm also not keen on the "what planet are you from" looks I get and the "what are you crazy!?" responses. I have never thought that about an epidural loving person. Why do we get flack? It's not weird. Don't knock it til you try it! (and I mean try hypno-birthing)

I got into a little conversation with some people and I hate that I end up seeming like I am anti-epidural and everyone should go natural. I think you should do whatever you want, AS LONG AS you have prepared yourself for whatever comes your way. Get educated. I had my babies using Hypno-Birthing (by Marie Mongan). I think every pregnant lady should read the book, regardless of what you're plans of child birth are going to be. You would not want to be caught without a back-up ;) It's great for helping you labor at home before you go to the hospital to get your epidural. Sometimes the book is a little extreme. I'm kind of "in the middle."

This is not my reasoning for LOVING natural childbirth. Not for the "just in case." I love experiencing all of the phases of labor. It's empowering to do it with calmness and no fear. It's a lot of work and a huge sacrifice, but I feel like the baby is going through just as much work to get here. I also hate not moving around in labor. I hate being hooked up to stuff. Women's bodies are made to do this. You should read the Hypnobirthing book to see where the idea of "pain" in labor came from. It's very interesting. I also think that I love it so much that in about 10 years (if my brain isn't fried from having kids by then) I will go back to school and get an RN and then hopefully go to midwife school at the U of U. Okay, so that's very ambitious of me and I've never ever been an ambitious person. We shall see.

locked up

So yesterday I did my Turbo Jam (Tommy calls it "doing tricks") work out on TV while the boys were playing up stairs in their room. I could hear screaming every so often, the usual banter when Jonny and Tommy play together. My work out was only a half our long and I figured that I would check on them when I was done. As long as they didn't bother me, I wouldn't have to bother with them or break up any fights.
After my work out, I made Lydia a bottle, made myself a protein shake and then I was about to take a shower. My bathroom is directly below the bathroom up in their room. I could hear the boys in their bathroom screaming for help. My first thought was that they turned water on or clogged up the toilet. It wouldn't be the first time it happened. Instead what I found was Jonny and Tommy locked in their bathroom for the last 40 minutes! They were crying and their little voices were tired from trying to yell for me. Poor kids. I thought they were fighting the whole time. I tried to explain to them how to unlock it, but they didn't understand. It's one of the doorknobs that has a little hole and you have to use a tiny screwdriver to unscrew the lock from the other side. I found Brock's tools and went to work. It didn't take very long before I had them out. They probably thought they were going to be locked up there forever. That's a long time for little kids to be in one space. I was actually laughing really hard as soon as I found out where they were. When I got them out Jonny gave me a really sincere "thanks mom." Almost like he owed me his life.

Cute Little Lolly

Here are some pics of Lydia. She found the toilet paper and went to town. There was another day that she fell asleep on the kitchen floor. Aren't I a good mother? Here's also a picture of her making her "scrunchy face." It's so funny. She makes it whether she's happy or sad.

More pics at the Mayan

Dinner at the Mayan

So after we left the Pond Skimming, we drove back to American Fork to pick up the kids at Brock's other sister's house. We felt bad for her for watching our 3 kids for one night along with her 4 children. She did have a lot of helpers though. I also missed my tiny-beejsha-Lydia-Pydia. So after picking up the kids, we took them to the Mayan in Salt Lake. We heard they have a new and better chef and the kids have never been there before. It was a lot of fun. We took some pics of the kids outside while we waited to be seated. Jonny was being such a poser. Tommy on the other hand was playing hard to get.
Once we got inside, we got a perfect table. Second floor, right in the middle of the diving action. The divers were out a lot. It seemed like every 5-10 minutes for at least 5 minutes. Jonny and Lydia loved it. Jonny was about ready to climbed the little fence and take a dive as well. Tommy did not love it. He was a little scared. Especially when one of the divers had a torch. Tommy sat as far away as he could and covered his eyes. Poor kid.

Happy Anniversary!

It's been 6 years since that magical day. We celebrated with some alone time in Park City, courtesy of Brock's sister Emma Leigh (holla). She hooked us up with a place to stay. While we were up there, Brock talked me into riding the gondola up the Canyons resort and watch the Pond Skimming thing they have up there. It's part of "Spring Gruve." People dress in funny costumes and ski/snowboard down the mountain and try to skim across a 100ft pond at the bottom of the hill. It was hilarious. I took a picture with a guy dressed as the Octomom. Sorry there aren't more pictures. Our camera ran out of batteries. Don't you hate it when that happens?

Jonny kissed a girl and he liked it!

So Jonny had his first kiss today. There is a girl that lives around the corner, Her name is Rachel. She just turned four. She has blond hair and brown eyes. She's pretty. Jonny and Rachel were playing at the park. She was Sleeping Beauty and he was her Prince Phillip. She kept trying to get Jonny to kiss her to "wake her up." I would tell them "just give each other a high-five." But, when I wasn't looking, Jonny leaned over quickly and planted one right on her mouth!
"Hey! I told you not to do that! I yelled. They both sat there and giggled with there hands over their mouths. "I don't like it and I don't think your Mom does either!" I yelled again. "Just high-fives, remember?"
Later that night I explained to Jonny that he's too young to kiss girls and that he has to wait until he's a daddy. He was very remorseful. He kept telling us how sorry he was and he thought he was in major trouble. We tried to reaffirm to him that he wasn't. I think he just liked talking about it.
It was all very sweet and I'm actually glad that I got to witness it. Not all mothers can say they witnessed their child's first kiss.

Do dogs poop at night?

SO this morning over Sunday breakfast Jonny(4) and Tommy(2) were arguing over if dogs poop at night. They went back and forth, "they do! They don't! They do! They don't!" You get the idea. Until Tommy finally screams "take it back!" He's very passionate about his K-9 facts.

Also, the other day Tommy said something so stinkin' funny, but I tried so hard not to laugh. So in my previous post I talked about his favorite word being "stupid." So a couple of days ago, he was talking to me about random stuff while I was paying bills. I don't even know what we were talking about but I hear "no, that's coco puffs stupid!" It wasn't just "stupid," it was "coco puffs stupid." I'm trying to get him off "stupid" so I've been trying to teach him the word "lame." It's the lesser of two evils. Brock says "teach him nice words." I try to, but if he's going to say something naughty I'd rather have him say that.

wew-wee!

Alright, so we just got the Internet hooked up at our house. We've only lived here for 9 months! How did we ever live without it? My parents only live 2 minutes away and they have Internet, that's how.
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say.....Lydia is now 10 months old and she is walking. She took her first steps a little over a month ago. She looks way too tiny to be struttin' around the house. It's so cute and funny. We also got her ears pierced. She wanted it more than I did. I finally gave in and took her to the mall. She's already pulled out two pairs of earrings and lost them. The one's she has on now have a silicone-type back on them, so the earrings are not moving!
Tommy is in the "terrific two's." At least that's what I keep telling myself. His favorite word right now is "stupid." Everything and everyone is stupid according to him. I try to ignore it, but then I don't think he learns anything, then I try to get upset and punish him, but I think he likes the attention. What's a mommy to do?
Jonny is growing up. He's still all over the place. On Sunday, one of his walmart training wheels broke and he told Brock that he wants to learn how to ride without training wheels. So Brock took him out. Just as they would start Jonny would say, "Wow, look at that tree" or "I want a Mickey Mouse birthday" or "I'm going to be fwankenstein for Halloween, what are you going to be?" He couldn't stay focused no matter how hard Brock tried.
I've been up to the same old-same old (no good) lately. The daily grind, laundry, dishes, toys, coloring, napping when I can, eating, not going to the gym, shopping for Lolly, bathrooms, diapers, walks to the park, American Idol, Sunbeams, and door bell ditching.
Brock is still of course workin it at the office. He also works 2 nights at a clubhouse for a development in Orem. Tough gig, he just sits there for 4 hours. He's also playing on 2 city league basketball teams the other 2 nights of the week. I'm surprised I remember what he looks like. The picture of his face on my nightstand brings me comfort. Just kidding. Sometimes we hang out with him at work and watch movies on the big screen or the kids play in the play room. The boys call it his "movie theater work." They call his office "Daddy's work show work." They call the TV show The Office "Daddy's work show." So hence the name "Daddy's work show work."
We've got some fun plans this summer. We're taking the kids to California. We're going camping near the canyon lands in Utah (I think). We'll be going camping with my family sometime this summer. It's gonna be grrrreat!
I will try to be more diligent on my blog for all of you avid readers out there. I know you've been waiting with bated breath for this post.

Heber Creeper

Last Friday night we had the opportunity to ride the Heber Creeper with Ty and Alene. It was Halloween themed (obviously) and the kids dressed up. It was supposed to be fun for all ages...yeah right. Even Jonny got the crap scared out of him! Here are a few pictures of that spooktacular night!

time flies when you don't even know what day it is... that doesn't even make sense

So it's been awhile, but by reading everyone Else's blogs, I'm not the only busy one. I've got Jonny and Tommy in a gymnastics class. They love it. Tommy does very well and tries very hard. He's the youngest in the class. They let him be in it because Jonny is in it too. Jonny's attention span is still zero. He gets frustrated easy which makes me frustrated. He says that he can't do things even before he tries to do it. We had his 4 year well child check up. He's as monstrous as ever (height and weight) and we talked about his ADHD issues. The Dr suggested a few herbal supplements first. Maybe it will work. He's probably one of the smartest kids you'll every meet with the best memory, but can't sit still or focus, stay on task, has no patience. That's okay because he's our Jonny and we love him to death! He's very silly and creative and has the wildest imagination. He's sweet and sincere.

On Sunday we went to Ty and Alene's baby blessing. It was beautiful and of course I cried. Both of my parents bore their testimonies. I can tell they both love all of us so much and want us to do our very best and to live up to our divine potential. They have been the best examples to me and how I should be as a parent and a person. It's definitely hard being a parent and to watch your kids grow and make mistakes and get hurt. I don't know how my parents do it, or especially, how our Heavenly Father does it.
Jonny gave a really sweet testimony as well. He saw people going up to speak and he said he wanted to do it too. I didn't want to take him up because I didn't think he knew what was really going on. He asked a few people to take him up there and no one would do it. Once he went up there by himself and a cousin brought him back down. Finally he grabbed my hand and took me up. We sat and waited our turn. When it was finally Jonny's turn, he wasn't sure how to start. I helped him say the usual kid testimony then said "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." Jonny said "no, not yet." And he began to be thankful for R2D2 and Lightening (McQueen), cartoons, movies, the world and "all of you too!" He had the crowd rolling with laughter. I kept trying to get him to finish, but he would say "no, not yet!" I was laughing so hard I was crying.
We also just had Jonny's 4th birthday. It was a Batman birthday. He invited a few cousins to go to Liberty Land with him. Of course the first ride he picks was the bumper boats, so I was soaked almost the rest of the night. Each little boy got to try the race cars by themselves. Jonny got benched because he crashed into a parked car, rolled backwards, then crashed into it again. He was very upset by this. After all the fun there, we went back home for a cake and ice-cream and presents. We had 3 little boys spend the night (I am crazy). As much fun as it was, I'm glad that it is over.
Lydia is doing very well! She's 5 & 1/2 months. She can sit up and she's getting up on her knees and starting to rock. It looks a little funny because she's still so little. I think I'm going to get her ears pierced in the next few weeks!

My next post will be Halloween (hopefully). Have fun!

Happy Birthday to Tommy

Yesterday was Tommy's 2nd birthday! We all went to the Zoo. It was all Tommy's idea too. He was so into seeing all of the animals. He could name pretty much all of them too. Lana came with us so that Brock and I wouldn't be out numbered. There's nothing worse than both Brock and I having to change diapers at the same time and Jonny in the next stall doing heaven knows what!
Jonny on the other hand was "over it" in about 5 minutes. All he wanted to do was ride the Zoo Train. That's all he talked/cried/whined about all day. We finally made it to the train. He was sufficiently satisfied, not thrilled. When we came home we had cake and ice cream and opened presents. Krystal (is such an artist) decorated Tommy's bday cake. I'll have to post pics. She mad Thomas the Tank Engine. It was amazing.
Tommy was the perfect bday boy. Very excited and happy for all of his presents. Jonny had a hard time with the present part, that's all I'm going to say about it.

Today Tommy had his 2 year check up. Apparently I was behind on his immunizations. He had to get 4 shots! One in each underarm and one in each thigh. I had to hold him down. He was probably thinking "why are you letting them do this to me!" He was pretty pissed off at me and didn't want anything to do with me for about 3 minutes. Then the nurse offered him a winnie the pooh stamp on his hand and that made things all better. Next we drove to my old work and I let him pick out whatever candy he wanted for being such a brave soldier. He chose 2 roles of Rolos.

BTW, my old work might become my new work again. I've had an on-again-off-again relationship with that place. My boss called me yesterday and said they were desperate. It's only about 10 hours a week, Thurs and Fri afternoons. I think I'm gonna do it. it seems though that soon after I start up working there I find out that I'm pregasaurus.... It's way too early for that.

I'll post pics of the bday soon.

check out Jeffy's blog!

Check out my brother Jeff's blog. You can find the link from my blog to the left. Krystal, Lana, and Jeff, oh and Bobby made a funny music video to the Duck Tales cartoon theme song. It's great! Doesn't Jeff kinda look like the cool-rebel-guy in Saturday's warrior?

this is how we do

Alright, so not much has happened lately. Just the usual mess. We did go to Movies8 Fri night and saw Kung Fu Panda* as a whole entire family, all 5 of us! We made it through the whole thing. Jonny did stand on his chair a few times to show everyone his karate moves. Brock had to take Tommy out a few times because, well, he's still a baby. As for Lolly (new name by Tommy) she was the perfect angel. We saw uncle Tom making his way to the car where aunt Sally was. She did not want to see Indiana Jones. It's probably because she thinks Harrison Ford is getting old and he's not as cute as she remembers.
For the Labor Day holiday we spent the morning watching the storm. Brock drove the boys around the 'hood looking for giant puddles to plow through. We spent the rest of the day laboring around the house. There was altogether 7 loads of laundry to either put away or wash or both. That night, Krystal and Nate made pizza (from scratch!) and we ate it all gone. So yummy! Then we ate desert and watched a movie.

*Jonny calls it "Fu Panda" and Tommy calls it "Poo Manna." It's funny.

Jonny still tries to tell the primary every week that it's his bday. Hopefully they will believe him when it actually is. Which reminds of a funny story. A few weeks ago in church, we were entertaining the kids as usual. The boys began to fight over the same coloring book. We tried to quietly tell Jonny to let Tommy have a turn and we gave him a different coloring book. He picked up the coloring book, threw it high in the air and yelled "I hate that coloring book!" The book landed about 4 rows in front of us. Tommy was already crying so Brock grabbed him and I grabbed Jonny and away we went to the hall for what should have been a beat down. They were both lucky we were in church where they could claim sanctuary.
In exactly one week it's Tommy's 2nd birthday. We'll be taking the kiddies to the Zoo because that's what Tommy asked for. Then we're headed home for cake and ice-cream. No big deal.
Lydia had her 4 month doctor appointment last week. Officially she's 90% for height and only 37% for weight. It's because she has reflux and spits up everything she eats immediately afterward. She's the best baby. Sometimes I feel like it's her and I against the world (Jonny and Tommy). Brock loves her so much too. He says she's the prettiest girl ever (besides her mom). It's true!

More American Fork Cyn (June)

Here are more pics of the camping trip with Brock's fam in June. We all went fishing. It was a hot day and Jonny decided to take off most of his clothes and play. He has no shame.

Dynamic Duo

The boys were playing in the costume box one night. The 1st pic is Tommy as Batman and then Jonny. The last pic is Tommy as Buzz. So cute.

I caught a fish THIS big!

We took the kids to Spanish Fork Resevoir (about 5 min from our house) and Jonny caught a fish, with some help from Brock. I have never seen Brock more proud or happy. It was cute the way he described Jonny reeling the fish in and that he was holding the rod at the perfect angle and reeling at the perfect speed. He was a natural!

Pump it UP!

Tommy saw me using the breast pump and decided to try it out on Jonny. Brock did not want me to post this, but it's way too funny not to.

Pics of baby Lala

Happy 4th of July

We spent the day swimming and eating at my sister Julie's house then headed over to Thanksgiving Point for fireworks. It was dynamite!

Camping trip to American Fork cyn

Jonny's brother Baxter

This picture is of Jonny, Baxter, and Jeff (my bro). Baxter is a dog that Jeff and his wife Mandi were babysitting for a friend. Jonny says that Baxter is his brother because they both have brown eyes. I think the dog is cute too, just like Jonny.

Brock's trip to Me-hi-co

yes, we are still here!

Okay, so I know haven't blogged in a while. I've been kinda bizzay. We moved (again) because, thanks to my dad, we found a bigger place for less rent. Duh. We moved a month ago. I don't know what it is with us. We have a kid and 3-4 weeks later we feel like moving. I'm so good at it though. I was born to pack boxes. If Brock told me that we were moving tomorrow, I could say, "You bring the truck, I'll bring boxes." I'm not saying that it's not stressful though. It is. On the day of "cleaning" I had all the kids with me (a 3yr old, 1 yr old, 3 week old). It's a good thing I have a lot of hair, because I was pulling it out all day. Here are just a few reasons why: I caught Jonny in the bathroom giving himself a "swirly" after going potty. Hopefully there was a "flush" in between. Tommy was runny around with a PVC pipe and tripped with his mouth wide open. You get the picture? Not a pretty sight. Also, the carpet cleaning guy was 3 hours late and lectured me about renting and not buying. Dork.
Lydia is growing like crazy. She just had a doctor appointment a couple of days ago and she's only in the 50th percentile for weight, but 97th for height. Just like her big bros.
Tommy is still just so gosh darn cute. He's the best helper boy ever. He does pretty much everything I ask him to do. He's talking a lot and learns a new word everyday. He also has a lot of new made up words. For example:

bummo- doctor
lung-a-lung- song/music/guitar/keyboard
manuma- snowman
dik-a-di- Krystal (my sister)
dak-a-da- helicoptor/airplane
ba-nu-ba- blanket
ba-nu-bone- balloon
that's all that I can think of right now.

Jonny is still just as "passionate" as ever. The first week in our new ward Jonny told the primary it was his birthday. So he got the birthday pencil and they all sang to him. When we found this out we were like, "great, he's already lying to the primary president." He tried it again today. He's very excited for his next birthday. He plans it out everyday. You are all invited, but you have to come dressed as a super hero.
Brock is finally done with school, until law school 2009. He went on a fishing trip with his bros to Mexico last month and had too much fun. He deserves it. He worked his bum off. Right now he's working at the office and doing a huge sprinkler job on the side for a friend. It's almost like he's in school again because he's gone 2 nights out of the week and all day Saturday.
As for me, I'm trying to find a rhythm. I'm not all stressed when the house is a mess because the house is so big that I can still see the carpet when there is stuff all over the place. Mom, if you're reading this, don't think that I'm a brat. I don't know how you and dad kept your sanity in the little yellow house.
I still love being a Mom. Having a girl is as much fun as people say. Lydia reminds me a lot of Jonny, but turned down a hundred notches. She moves a lot and always has to be facing out and she likes to stand. She's a good sleeper though and not as crazy as Jonny was. It's okay, I can call him crazy because I'm his mom. It's a good crazy though. For those of you who know him, you know what I mean. Bright RED personality.

Oh, one more thing. I've figured out what babies smell like. Dannon Light 'n fit non-fat vanilla yogurt. It's true. I think that's why I want to eat Lydia all the time. She's so yummy.

Lydia and mama

It's a GIRL!

Friday May 9, 2008

For those of you who haven't heard, we had a baby girl. Her name is Lydia Jane Hunsaker. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and 20 in long. I went into labor May 1st (the day after my last post) at around 2:30 am, we got to the hospital at 6:30, I was dilated to a "7" and she was born at 8:32 am. I got to deliver this one too. I got to announce "she's a girl" because I saw first. Everything went very well. The whole process was great. I was super tired because I was only on about 2-3 hours of sleep.
The boys were very excited. Jonny was beaming as soon as he walked into the room. He was speechless. Tommy didn't know what to think at first then after a minute all he wanted to do was kiss her and squeeze her. Jonny loved holding her. They were both so cute.
Tommy is pretty good with her. Although every once and a while we hear him say "kick baby." Not good. Jonny is pretty good also. He likes to sit and hold her on the couch. I can't turn my back for too long because if I do I'll catch him squeezing her face really hard or grabbing her head. He's just curious. I remember biting Krystal's hands when she was a baby. Not to be mean, I was just curious. Weird.
Brock is very cute with Lydia. He doesn't know it, but he gets a goofy grin on his face when he holds her. I love it. I wish I could bottle it up. I love that he doesn't mind staying up with all of the kids when I want to go to bed at 9pm. (Bedtimes have gone out the window since the baby was born. It's too crazy right now).
I think I'm doing pretty well adjusting. Mine and Brock's sisters have helped out a lot with watching the boys. Brock's been good with letting me sleep when I need to. The house is a big fat mess all of the time, but at least we are all happy. My sister Julie told me that she had to lower her cleaning standards with each kid. It's true. It's hard for me because I like cleaning. I love getting out stains. It's one of the things I'm good at. Oh well.
I have to tell you a quick funny story of how well the adjustment of our growing family is going. On Wednesday My cousins and their kids came over the visit the new baby. Everything was going fine until I had to give Tommy a nap because he was tired and screaming at everyone. I had to shoo all of the kids out of the room. The next thing I know Tommy is out of his crib (He is 20 months, so it's really about time.) Why did he have to choose that day to learn how to do that? He's pounding on the door screaming and crying. Mean while, Lydia is crying because she needs to eat and JOnny is in the backyard on top of a shed with all of his toys.
I got Tommy to bed in Jonny's bunk bed, I got Jonny off the shed with all of his toys (don't ask me how he got the toys up there). Then I fed Lydia and by that time, it was time for everyone to go. Good times.
Yesterday while I was nursing I could hear the boys in the kitchen. They had got to the step ladder and climbed on the counter top. They were pulling all of the cups and bowls out of the cupboard and throwing them all over the place. Jonny got board of that quickly and moved on to playing with his toys. I asked him to go into the kitchen and help Tommy down or at least go see what he's doing. Jonny ran into the kitchen and ran out and said "mom he's doing butter!" Crap! Tommy had butter all over the counter and himself. I yelled at Jonny, "Go help him! Get him down!" Like that was going to happen. Jonny responded, "Aw mom, he's just having fun!"
I was afraid to stop nursing for fear of knowing that I would have to eventually see the butter mess.
Good times.

Not a lot going on.....

Wednesday April 30, 2008 (it always displays the wrong date, how do I fix that?)

Not much to say, but I haven't posted in a while, so I figure that I should. My due date is coming up on Monday! Less than a week. It could be any day now. I'm not ready though. I've got so much to do around this place. Maybe this weekend I'll get it all done and go into labor. That's my plan. The other day Brock asked me, "So when do you think it will be?" I wish I could tell you. We still need to buy a car seat and a camera to document the blessed event and a dresser of some sort to put the new kids' belongings into. So, any bets or guesses as to whether it's a boy or girl? Yours are as good as mine! Jonny says it's a girl and we should name it "Lea." Tommy is always trying to pull my shirt up (even in public) to say "peek-a-boo" to the baby.
Oh, which reminds of something cute that Tommy does. Tommy likes to sing the "oh oh ohs" at the end of the Alicia Keys song "No One." It's awesome. One day we were jamming out to it in the car and I hear Tommy trying to sing. This morning I could hear him in the other room singing it to himself. He loves the radio. When he hears a song he likes and wants it turned up he says "mama dance!" Jonny is a little more serious when it comes to riding in the car. He's always telling me that I'm going the wrong way or slow down or "this isn't the way to Grandma's house!" or yelling out directions like "mom, turn left!" Control freak.
There is a song though that he likes. It's "Clumsy" by Fergie. We were jamming out to that song one day and Jonny said, "hey, what are they saying? Brock can't help it, Brock can't help it." He thought it was so funny that his daddy's name would be in the song. The real words are "the girl can't help it." I'm not sure why he thinks they're saying "Brock." Brock hates it.
Speaking of Brock, graduation was last week. He decided not to walk because he didn't want to put me or his family through the awful graduation experience. Besides, he starts summer school today, so he's technically not done. He's got 2 more classes to complete. And he wants to go to law school next year, so he's got a ways to go. He says that law school graduation will be the one that really counts. I agree. Thanks Brock!
I am very proud of you though. You've worked so hard and this is a major accomplishment. You rock! We'll have to do some sort of party this summer.
It was my little brother Bobby's mission farewell on Sunday. He's going to the Lubbock Texas mission. He's got the FLDS comound in his mission, maybe he'll be able to convert a few of the crazies over there. We told him that he needs a name tag that says "LDS, NOT FLDS." Good luck and we'll miss you!
I can't think of much else to write about. I'm sure I'll think of more in the next couple of days when the baby comes! I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it! AAAAAHHHH! Holy Crap! WE will have 3 kids soon!

Jonny, "Teengage Hairspray"

Don't tell anyone, but Jonny likes to watch the movie Hairspray sometimes. It's a cute movie. He will then want his hair combed like the character "Linc." When I'm done combing his hair, I say, "what does your hair look like?" and Jonny says "I look like teenage hairspray!" He's so cute. The 2nd picture is him striking a pose.

Just thought I'd let the world know.....the baby has already dropped (about a month ago) and I literally have to pee every 5 minutes. This is the part of pregnancy I don't miss. My midwife told me that I probably won't make it to May, which is fine because my back is killing me! I am getting my energy back though! I was worried a couple of weeks ago because I hadn't started to "nest" yet. I'm feeling it now though. I actually did the dishes before I went to bed last night and I'm thinking about cleaning the bathroom today! Whew.
We just sold out beloved Toyota Corolla. We were very sad to see it go. We really did love that car. Lot's of good road trip memories in that car. Now we're stuck with the POS Blazer! We hate this car. We want to push it off a cliff. We've probably paid for the stupid thing 3 times over. We're actually trying to sell it right now, but the registration just expired and it didn't pass Safety. So, about $750 later, we'll be able to register the stupid thing and hopefully get rid of it soon. I would not want anyone I know to buy it. It's a nice car and we take care of it, but it always has a major problem that is never less than $700 to fix. I really think that it's cursed. I'm serious.

More Easter pics

Here we are at my sister's house.

Here we are again with Bro-n-law Troy in the picture. He always manages to jump in at the last second. (He was in a a family pic in a previous post)

Here is my cousin Summer, My aunt Clair, and My Aunt Sally. We all sat around the guitar and sang like a bunch of dorks. It was so fun.

Happy Easter!

The day before Easter we spent with Brock's family and had an Easter egg hunt at a park. Jonny didn't care much for the candy, it was the "thrill of the hunt." Tommy, on the other hand wanted to open every egg and eat it as he went.
On Easter we went to my sister Julie's house. It was a lot of fun because I got to see family that I haven't seen in a while.

Tommy and Brock eating candy while they "hunt."

Top 10 Reasons why I LOVE Thomas BROCK Hunsaker

Today is our 5 year anniversary. Someone asked me yesterday if it went by fast. I said parts of it. Usually all of the good parts. I love being married to Brock. He's everything I've always wanted. It's not always perfect, but we try so hard to be understanding and patient with each other.

10. If I want something done a certain way, he never asks questions, he just does it!

9. He never says anything about how much ice-cream I eat or my expanding pregnant bum.

8. He gives the best hugs!

7. He's fascinated by our children. He's the best dad and the boys can't get enough of him!

6. He does this high pitch old lady voice and talks for me. It cracks me up.

5. He's a very hard worker and doesn't give up.

4. He likes to dance with me.

3. He's irresistible with his glasses on.

2. He let me finish watching "What not to Wear" even though the Super Bowl had just started.

1. He's not afraid of a poopy diaper! You gotta love that.

Brock I love you so much! Thank you for all that you do for me and our little family. Sometimes I think back to when we were first married and how much I loved you then. I didn't think it was possible to love you even more, but I do! Sometimes I try to wrap my brain around all the love I have for you, but I can't! You rock my world!

The Pilot

We bought a new car this weekend. After days and nights of searching the Internet and car lots, we finally found what we are looking for! We thought for sure that we'd end up with a minivan. We're too young for a minivan! Brock has a friend that told him he wouldn't be friends with him anymore if we got a minivan. Then we saw a Honda Pilot. It's perfect. It has a third row and it doesn't get the crappy gas mileage that other SUV's get.
The last picture on here is Jonny showing off what he made in Sunbeams yesterday.

Super Heroes!

Here are some pics I found on the camera of the boys playing "Super Heroes." Brock is always such a good sport!

Thinking of having kids?

I got the following email from a friend. It's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. It's all true too! Enjoy, and try not to pee your pants from laughing so hard!

Thinking of Having Kids? Do this 15 step program first!
Lesson 1:
1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.
4. Pick up the paper.
5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2:
Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who
already are parents and criticize them about their...

1. Methods of discipline.
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's
breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.

Enjoy it, because it will be the last time in your life you will
have all the answers.

Lesson 3:
A really good way to discover how the long nights with a new baby
might feel....

1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the
living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound playing loudly). Eat cold food with one hand for dinner.
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again with the bag until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM, make a drink and watch an
infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work. (Work really hard and be productive.)
10. Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for approximately 3-5 years. Look cheerful and well put-together.

Lesson 4:
Can you stand the mess children make? To find out.

1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there
all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. and wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons.

How does that look?

Lesson 5:
Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms
hang out. Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6:
1. Take an egg carton. Using a pair of scissors and a jar of paint,
turn it into an alligator.
2. Now take the tube from a roll of toilet paper. Using only Scotch
tape and a piece of aluminum foil, turn it into an attractive Christmas
candle.
3. Finally, take a milk carton, a ping-pong ball, and an empty
packet of Cocoa Puffs. Make an exact replica of the Eiffel Tower.

Lesson 7:
Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.

Now:
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the
backseat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 8:
1. Get ready to go out.
2. Sit on the floor of your bathroom reading picture books for half
an hour.
3. Go out the front door.
4. Come in again. Go out.
5. Come back in.
6. Go out again.
7. Walk down the front path.
8. Walk back up it.
9. Walk down it again.
10. Walk very slowly down the sidewalk for five minutes.
11. Stop, inspect minutely, and ask at least 6 questions about every
cigarette butt, piece of used chewing gum, dirty tissue, and dead
insect along the way.
12. Retrace your steps.
13. Scream that you have had as much as you can stand until the neighbors come out and stare at you.
14. Give up and go back into the house. You are now just about ready to try
taking a small child for a walk.

Lesson 9:
Repeat everything you have learned at least (if not more than) five
times.

Lesson 10:
Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is also excellent). If you intend
to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy
your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for
everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 11:
1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into
the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine-month old baby.

Lesson 12:
Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know. you're thinking, "What's 'Noggin?") Exactly the point.

Lesson 13:
Move to the tropics. Find or make a compost pile. Dig down about halfway and stick your nose in it. Do this 3-5 times a day for at least two years.

Lesson 14:
Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying, "Mommy" repeatedly.
(Important: no more than a four-second delay between each "Mommy"; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required.) Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 15:
Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug
on your skirt hem, shirt sleeve, or elbow while playing the "Mommy" tape made from Lesson 14 above. You are now ready to have a conversation
with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek, and anyone who is parent will say, "It's
all worth it!" Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have
kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!

"It's" getting closer!

Brock and I went to the movies tonight. We started out to see Vantage Point, but a reliable source said it wasn't that great. We'll have to save it for Redbox. We ended up seeing Juno. I don't know why, but I wasn't laughing at the funny parts that everyone else was laughing at. I wasn't feeling very well, maybe that's why. Anyway. It was a good movie. The end was awesome. I loved it. I cried. I wanted to cry out loud. I think I just love motherhood and being pregnant and the whole labor and delivery process so much. It's something that I'm so passionate about. Don't get me started. I could talk about it for days. I only have 7& 1/2 weeks left. I'm getting anxious because I just want to hold the baby so bad and stare into it's eyes and say "I'm your mommy." NOthing beats the feeling of your brand new baby staring back at you. (I hate calling the baby "it" BTW, but oh well, that's what I get) I'm also so excited for Jonny and Tommy and to see their reactions and how they adjust to a new family member. I love the end-part of labor when I can feel the surges becoming stronger and I know that the baby will be here soon. I love the part right afterward too. Right when the baby is born and I get to hold it and give Brock a big smooch. Then they show me the placenta so I can see where the baby was for the last 10 months. The whole process is so beautiful. I know some people would disagree with me, but I love everything about it! It's so amazing. I can't even put into words how cool I think it is.
Okay, now I think I'm just starting to ramble.
subject change: I've decided to grow my hair out. I want a pony tail!
Jonny said the funniest thing this morning. He wanted to sleep with us last night, so I told him that he could make a bed on the floor next to me. Before Brock left for work in the morning, I had him put Jonny in bed next to me. When Jonny woke up and noticed he was in our bed I told him "Daddy put you in our bed before he went to work." Then Jonny replied "awe Dad, you're a genius!"

it's a girl?!

I just looked at a Chinese Lunar Calendar to see what the gender of our baby might be and it said "GIRL." We'll just have to see about that. It would be so radical though.
I love watching this show on TLC called "John and Kate plus Eight." They have twin 5-year-olds and six 3-year-olds. That show really inspires me for some reason. Especially on days where I think my 2 kids are too much, I have to think of Kate and say "how does she do it." I love how OCD and organized she is. If I had the money, I would probably be that way too. You would have to be that way I think to keep everything moving, just to make it through to the next day. I love it. Her little kids are so cute too. Jonny likes to watch it with me. He calls it "The Family Show." It's awesome, They're awesome. I can't imagine trying to potty train six 3-year-olds. It was hard enough to train one! The energy you would need as a mom (and Dad) to keep up with that many tiny kids all the same age, all day, every day is incredible. Maybe she's on crack. Just kidding. I didn't say that.

There is no hope for us

I don't think we'll ever get a picture with all of looking at the camera or someone not crying. Oh well. BTW, that's my bro-in-law Troy making this special time more enjoyable for everyone.

borrrring!

I feel so boring lately. People ask me "so what's new?" And I say "nothing, the usual, whatever." It's true. I'm not bored. I'm never bored. I heard somewhere that only boring people are bored. I'm just boring. The same thing every day. The same messes to clean up and bums to wipe. It's fine, I'm not complaining I just feel sorry for the person that asks "what's new?"
I am excited about one thing coming up. I've got 3 months left and I just found out that the best midwife in the whole world (she's delivered my last 2 boys) will be delivering this baby too! You see, regular patients would just have to get whoever is on call, but I'm special. That's right. Kathryn Hardy will be there with me. Brock is very releived because he says we can't have a baby without her. Yeah Brock, like you've got it rough. J/K. You know I love you. Thanks for all of your love and support.
Oh cripes! Another trial is upon us. Brock and I have to speak in church next Sunday. We were actually supposed to speak a few months ago but the Bishop called us right before Sacrament Mtg and said they had Stake stuff to take care of and it would take up all of the time! Lucky for us. Unlucky for us is that our topics are different and we have to write all new talks. I'm more excited about this topic than I was the last one. I didn't say that I was excited to speak! It's on "Presonal Revelation."

Snow Fort

Brock made snow fort with the boys. He's the best dad. He's such a dad for boys. BTW, I hate snow. Why does all of my family have to live in Utah now? Let's all move somewhere else.

Jonny is fun!

Jonny is so much fun again right now, most of the time, when he's not giving me attitude or trying to boss everyone around. He says the funniest stuff too. We've been going to the doctor a lot lately because it's so much fun. Anyway, Jonny talks about it sometimes and says "Tommy can walk now." I think when Tommy was in the hospital Jonny thought he couldn't walk. I don't know. It's funny, he gets excited that Tommy can walk. When Jonny gets mad he will yell something like "you creakin' baby!" I think he means to say "freakin' baby." I don't know where he heard that.
Jonny just fell in love with Star Wars (Thanks Billy). We went to the library today and checked out Episode One. The really lame one with the little kid. Jonny is in love. He thinks he's the little kid. He got so excited during a scene when the little boy was racing in some flying thing that I thought Jonny was going to have a seizure. I'm not kidding. It was almost too much excitement for him.
He's also into having me make things out of cereal boxes for him. Even though there is still cereal in the box he has me take the bag out and then cut out light sabers or hands, feet, and a face because that's what his sunbeam teacher does. Or so he says.

This has nothing to do with anything but I really want to grow my hair out but I'm afraid that I will have fat-pregnant-looking-face if I have long hair by the time the baby is due. Also, I get bored with my hair too often so I cut it when it gets a little long. Also, I hate the in between stage, not too short, not too long, just annoying. I've been going to the gym lately and I see the backs of all these girls with their cute ponytails whipping up and down their skinny backs as they run like the wind on the treadmill. Then, there's me. Trying to walk as fast as a can on the treadmill with my short "Mom-doo" and my pregnant butt that the people behind me have to stare at. Okay, hopefully they are all watching whatever lame channels Golds Gym has to offer. Sorry you all had to read this, it's been on my mind lately. Give me your opinions. Grow out or keep short? I'm serious about this.

I think boys really do have cooties!

Holy crap! Two blogs in one month. I must really be on top of things. I'm actually not. It's just a good excuse to not do the laundry list of things that I really need to do, for example, laundry.
So I think that boys really do have cooties. I'm about 26 weeks pregnant right now and I developed an allergic reaction to something a couple of days ago. It was a horribly itchy rash all over my baby belly, my back, arms, legs, and neck. I went to the walk-in clinic at my work yesterday and spoke to the nurse there so that he could write me a presciption and be on my way. I also told him that this has happened before with my other 2 pregnancies but the other doctors never figures out what caused it.
So that night before the nurse went home he told me that he did some research on it and told me that if I'm carrying a boy I could be allergic to male DNA. Another boy! Maybe! I guess we'll find out if he's right in a few months. Isn't that crazy though? I've heard of girls being allergic to male or female DNA and miscarrying.
When I told Brock, he laughed at me. Like the way that kid laughs on the Simpsons when Bart does something stupid. Brock knows I want a girl really bad. Boys are fun though. I guess we'll just have to have a lot of kids so that someday I will get my girl. SO there Brock, "HA HA."

The day after Christmas

The day after Christmas was not as fun as it could have been. Tommy seemed a little sick and it seemed that he did not have a lot of energy. Jonny was just getting over a cough/cold/little fever, nothing serious, so we figured Tommy had the same. Any way, that night Brock and I went back and forth to see of we sould take him to insta-care. Just before we decided to go, we gave Tommy some tylenol. As soon as we got there he was running around and happy and talking like nothing was ever wrong. We wondered if we should got home since it seemed like he was magically healed. They tested his oxygen and did a chest xray. His oxygen was really low and his lungs did not look good. They told us that we would have to go to the hospital right away because he would have to be suctioned and put on oxygen. "oh great." we thought. "And to think that we almost turned around and went home." At the hospital he got suctioned with a super vacuum and was accesorized with a nose-tube-thing that he hated the first night then didn't seem to mind as much the next few days as he got used to it. His breathing was very rapid. For a baby his age they told us that the normal breaths per minute was between 20-30. Tommy's was 70. That was scary to hear.
Brock, Tommy, and I did not sleep hardly at all the few days we were at the hospital. It was nice when we got to go home, though we did have to take the oxygen home with us for a few more days. Tommy was such a trooper. It's the saddest and the cutest thing to see him with baby scrubs on. What he had was basically RSV but they never did the actual test because it's too painful on little babies and it wouldn't have made a difference in how they treated him anyway.
Tommy is all better now. Our family is fine. It was mostly just boring and a lot of waiting. We were never really worried because we knew that Tommy was in good hands and they told us that we brought him in at a perfect time. (He could have gone either way.)

Merry Christmas (better late than never!)

Christmas was very exciting this year. Jonny was very involved in the whole Christmas process. The wrapping, the buying, the giving, and mostly the receiving. He was not afraid of Santa this year. What a relief! In years past it's been a death cry when it was his turn to sit on Santa's lap. Not this year, he was happy and excited and he had the biggest smile on his face. The following picture says it all. Plus, he knew exactly what he wanted, Transformers.
Tommy on the other hand was deathly afraid and was shaking like he had just gotten out of the bath tub. He screamed and cried. Oh what fun. Too bad I don't have a picture of that.

It's been a good year, We are very blessed.

What else has happened?.....

Let's see. Brock is working and going to school and he's now on a city league basketball team with his brother Jake. It's so great when we get to see him. He really is a big help to me when he's home. He totally understands, that if I'm not happy, no one is. Thanks B-Rock! I love you.
I singed my hair about a month ago with my Chi flat iron. All you girls out there can imagine my pain and anger. Don't you worry though, I sent it back and they sent me a new one, so all is good again. Phew!
Tommy is still the cutest baby ever. He is still so chubby. He has this super soft teddy bear that Krystal gave him for his birthday. He sleeps with it and carries it around the house. He can point to it's eye's and nose and I'm trying to teach him "bowling ball" for head, because that what he has, I big bowling ball that can head butt you, yet he feels no pain. I'm still convinced that we don't need to teach him how to talk because he already knows Chinese. Who am I to change what comes natural?

Dear Santa, I can explain...

That should be the way Jonny starts out his letter to Santa this year, not that he'll write one anyway. Just the other night, Brock and I were in the kitchen putting dinner away and we heard a crash in the living room. We ran in and not much to my surprise was our Christmas tree laying on it's side and Jonny on his bike at the foot of the tree. I sreamed out "what are you doing?!" His reply was calm and cool. He said "I was parking my bike." I had to leave the tree there and just walk away so that I wouldn't be tempted to park his bike on him. Brock and I continued to put dinner away. We were in a out of the fridge for a few minutes and Tommy managed to make his way past us and pull a full gallon of juice out of the fridge and spill it's entire contents onto the floor. All I could say was "that's it, it's time for bed." Don't you worry though, we got all of the messes cleaned up and eventually went to bed.
A couple of days ago I was making mac'n'cheese for lunch and I was waiting for the water to boil. Jonny was supposed to be watching a movie while I was ironing (don't laugh). Tommy was asleep. I thought I could smell something burning so I ran into the kitchen and found Jonny waving a fiery torch that used to be a wooden spoon in the air. We have a gas stove and the flames must have intrigued him.
Brock will probably be mad at me for writing this but it's too funny not to. On Friday, Jonny woke up and climbed in bed with me for a few minutes. When he was ready for breakfast, I was not ready to get out of bed yet. He continued to get mad at me. Our playful banter went back and forth until he said "I will kill your brothers and your sisters." I'm laughing inside right now as I write it. I know it sounds harsh. Maybe you had to be there. I know he didn't really know what that meant, because he really loves my brothers and sisters.
Jonny makes up for it at about 10 o'clock at night. When Tommy has gone to bed, Jonny turns into the nicest, most sweetest boy in the whole wide world. He's polite and loving and kind. It's fun. I love that boy so much. I definately would not trade hime for the world.

What have we been up to?

Alright, for those of you who don't know, I'm pregnant! Total surprise. Remember, before trying a new birth control, ask your doctor if Loestrin 24 is right for you. It wasn't for me. Oh well. It's all good now. Cinco de Mayo is the ETA. I'm about a week and a half from the ultrasound. I still don't think I will find out. We're hoping for a girl, of course. One thing that sucks is I think I weigh about the same amount right now as I did this same time last year. (Tommy was 3 months old). WOOHOO! The other day, I took the boys with me to my check up and I was explaining to Jonny that a new baby was going to come live with us in a while. I continued to explain that we were going to the doctor to hear the baby's heartbeat in mommy's belly. Jonny sighed and said "we did that last year." It's true, we kinda did.
Jonny's cute. He knows his job is to push the button on the monitor to turn it off and on to hear the heart beat.
Jonny does not do well with change. We have to keep preparing him. I think this time will be better for him because he's a little older and he can understand a little better. And since, we've brought home a baby before, it won't seem weird to do it again.
Anyway, when we left the appointment, Jonny said "hey, where's the baby?" I told him that it wasn't time yet for the baby to come out. He let out a big "ugh!" He was very disappointed because he thought that we were going to the doctor to bring the baby home.

Where do I begin?

Trick or Treating with Cousins
Back row: Kaitlyn, Josh, Zack Front Row: Ben, Tommy, Jonny

The Toy Story Family: Buzz, Woody, BoPeep, Little Sheep

So it's been way too long since I've blogged. Where do I start? A lot has happened. I think I'll start with Halloween. I just (about) barely got the pictures off my camera tonight from that great day. Jonny was Buzz Lightyear, Brock was Woody, I was BoPeep, and Tommy was my sheep. Awe, what family fun. I got Jonny a laser gun that day (not a real one) for being a good boy during his check up at the dentist. Whenever he plays guns we tell he can only shoot bad guys and monsters. Needless to say, he shot a lot while we were trick-or-treating. He's not afraid of anyone, at least he acts like he's not. One house we stopped at there was a kid who was about 14 years old with a scary monsters mask on. He was walking up behind Jonny. Jonny turned around and yelled "Hey! You get away from us!" Another house there was a really tall guy dressed up like a tree, hiding in the trees and he would walk out scare all the kids walking up to his house. All of Jonny's cousins were scared, but not Jonny. He stood firm a shook his finger at the tree guy and yelled "Don't do this to us!" Brock and I get such a kick out of that kid. Also, since Jonny probably has ADHD or something, he was easily distracted all night. I had to keep reminding him, "Jonny, get candy, get candy, get candy, get candy..." He was so preoccupied with every one's lawn decor. We would end up a house or two behind his cousins. He really didn't care about the candy. He just liked being let out in public in his costume. I'm pretty sure he really thought he was the real Buzz Lightyear.

Snow Daaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the blowout by BYU, Brock took the boys out to play in the snow. Ugh! I can't beleive it's already snowing! At the first sign of snow, Jonny had his board out and was ready to ride. Tommy, on the other hand, didn't have as great of a time as his brother and father. It's alright Tom, you and I are in the same boat. He sure looked funny though. I wish I could've snapped a few shots when he fell over. Tommy was just like that kid on "A Christmas Story." If Tommy could talk, he would've said "I can't get up, guys, I can't get up!" Good times.

Happy Birthday Jonny and Tommy!

We had the boys' birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun. It's nice that they were both born in September. Just get it all done in one shot! Most of our families were there, so it was like Christmas for the boys. The next day Jonny was already planning what he wants for his next birthday. Ungrateful little turd. Totally kidding, but, dude, you're three years old! You're not supposed to care yet!

Roaring Springs

Here we are at Roaring Spring water park in Meridian Idaho this last summer.
Tons-O-Fun!

Here is little Jonny on the Big slide. He was scared to go down once he got up there, but there was no way he was going to chicken out. Brock would not let him go out like that.

I-da-ho

This is what our house in Idaho looked like, just in case any of you were wondering.

This is Jonny and his friend Mason in the moving truck getting ready to pack up.

More pictures of Alaska

I found some pictures of our Alaska trip hidden on our camera. This was at Victoria B.C.. B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Flock of Seagulls

Sometimes Tommy wakes up with a "Flock of Seagulls" Hairdo. Sorry about the picture quality, you get the idea.

major update/picture fest

Now that I work, I suck at blogging. I do read your blogs though. The summer was fun and that's all I have to say about that.

These pictures are from the Root Family Reunion at Deer Creek. It was fun. Jonny and his cousin Ian found a muddy spot and went to town. These pictures are all before Ian peed in a bucket and Jonny poured it on Ian's back. Good times.

Here's Dad, having a good time.

Here is a picture not related the the reunion, but I thought it was funny. Someone left a chocolate cake out at my parents house. I don't think I need to explain the rest.

Only the good die young

This is me at my sister Julie's Birthday Luau, with my braces OFF!

I learned yesterday that I will die when I'm 67.7 years old. The pharmacist at work read about a study where they figured out how many beats an average heart takes before it dies. So, depending on your heart rate, whether it's high or low, will depend on how long, or short you will live. Is this making any sense? Anyway, I've always had a fast pulse. Maybe that's why I don't run very well. According to his calculations, I will die in about 40 years. That's pretty sad. Tommy will be 41 and Jonny will be 43. Brock doesn't want me to die that early. How nice of him. Alene, if you're reading this, you will live a very long, long, long time.

back to work, work, work....and tring to keep the sabbath day holy

I've started back to work at my old job at the great and wonderful Art City Pharmacy! I'm back to having old sick (as in ill) men flirt with me and pity laughing at my bosses cheesy jokes. It's fun. I haven't worked in a year and I'm totally surprised at how much I remember. The first day back reminded me that a lot of people are on a lot of lortab.

Here's a funny story that I didn't make up. On Sunday, Jonny and I were waiting in the car for Brock and Tommy to go to church. It was of course 1 o'clock and we were already late. Brock was in the bathroom doing his hair and Tommy was playing in the drawers of the bathroom. He got into a drawer that had nail polish in it. Of course he had to grab the hot pink wet'n'wild. Brock didn't notice him as he walked out of the bathroom. He proceeded to walk into my parents main living room and he threw the nail polish on the floor. It might not be a big deal if my parents floor wasn't WOOD! It broke and it splattered everywhere! I'm talking everywhere! Hot pink on my parents wood floor. They were out of town for the weekend. Needless to say, we were way late to church.
To clean it up, we went online and it said to use non-acetone nail polish remover because it's less harsh. So on top of being late, we had to break the sabbath and go to the store because there was only plain acetone nail polish in the house. We got it cleaned up, it only took us an hour, and went to the last couple of hours of church. We ended up breaking only 3 commandments that day, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Brock told me the lesson in priesthood was keeping the sabbath day holy. The men were having a discussion on what activities were okay to do on Sunday's. Brock raised his hand and asked if it was okay to go to the store and buy stuff to clean the nail polish his 1 year old son spilled on his in-laws wood floor. He said it got a good laugh.

Bow-chica-bow-wow.......

I totally got my braces off!!! Hallelujah! Of course the first thing B-rock wants to do is make out! Dude, it's the middle of the day and we're in your parking lot at work.
My teeth aren't slimy feeling like everyone says. It's where your teeth and gums meet that feel weird. I feel like teeth fell out too kid of. Or like something is missing. Which it is. It's just weird, that's all I can say. WOO-HOO!
Right now we are in transition. We moved down from Idaho. School wasn't working out up there like he thought it would. Our place in Orem isn't ready yet, sooo.... we are kickin' camping style in the basement of my parent's house. Mattress on the floor and living out of suitcases. It's fun, believe it or not. Except when it comes to bedtime because ALL of the boys think they need to cuddle up next to me. I'm about ready to let all three boys sleep in our cozy bed and I'll take Jonny's springy mattress.
Things have obviously been carazy! Moving and running around. That's all we do. Brock started his L-SAT prep course last night. Good luck with that one honey! You are way too challenging for me. Wish him luck and pray for him. B-rock's brotha Jared is leaving next week for Law School on San Diego. Good Luck dude, we'll miss you!
As for me, I'm gearing myself to go back to work. I get my old job back at the Art City Pharmacy. I'll be working about 15 hours per week. This will be a major adjustment since I haven't worked outside the home in about a year. I can't remember a dang thing about medicine either. SHshshsh. Don't tell anyone though.
Now the boys. Jonny is bossing around everyone more than ever. Probably because he has more people to be the boss of at my parents house. We need to work on that. He's just so emotional and dramatic. Everything seems life or death. Tommy is totally opposite. He's the happiest baby ever! He loves to be held, which is why I'm still surprised that he ever learned to walk. He's always got the biggest smile on his face when he wakes up and he loves to pick up stuff and throw it. Over and over again. Oh, and he loves Mickey Mouse. I wish you all could watch him watch the beginning of The MIckey Mouse Clubhouse. He goes crazy! He loves it! The only thing that isn't nice that Tommy does is he bites when he's tired. He will fight sleep and bite me for sometimes an hour before he finally gives in. His little teeth are like glass too. I swear. It hurts.
Anyway, that was long and boring. Sorry. Hopefully it's not another month before I post again. But it probabaly will be.
Peace!

He keeps going and going and going and going.....

I'm pretty sure Jonny was born with an energizer battery. It was a whopping 105 degrees outside today (at 5pm!)! Yuck! Jonny kept saying that he wanted to play at the park. Brock and I kept trying to distract him be saying, "okay, after lunch," or "maybe after your nap." This kid does not forget. The first thing he says as soon as he wakes up from his nap is "let's go to the park!" Of course. We ended up taking him and I thought I was going to melt! Jonny just loves being outside. It does not matter to him if it's 105 degrees or 20 degrees, he's the happiest kid you've ever seen as long as he's outside. He made Brock play baseball with him in the scorching sun while I watched Tommy eat bark in the shade. Good times!

We are headed back to Utah this Friday. We will see you all then!

Root family reunion

I'm not sure why these are the only pictures we have from this splendid weekend. If any of you out there have pictures with our family in them from this weekend, e-mail them to me. It was so much fun! We all went wake boarding (except for me) and tubing and most of us jumped off a big rock. I was very proud of myself for this. I wish I had a picture to prove it. We camped out at Joes Valley Resevoir. It was so beautiful. The nicest lake I've seen in Utah. We got to hang out with Grandpa Pete for a bit which was super fun. Brock really enjoyed talking with him and getting to know him beter. I wish we could have stayed longer. We celebrated mine and Mandi's (Jeff's wifey) birthday's up there. Brock and Jonny went fishing a couple of times. Jonny got eaten alive by mosquito's and he's so allergic. His eye was swollen shut for a day and it took 2 more days for the swelling to go down. He looked like he got boxed in the eye. I didn't let him look in the mirror for a couple of days. Not that he looks at himself in the mirror daily anyway.
It was also fun to sit around the camp and listen to Mandi and Jeffy sing to Evynn (Julie's baby). It was dang cute. They're going to have cute kids someday! They will all have cool hair and sing all day. I just know it.
Jonny's favorite part was when Ian pooped his pants and he was yelling at everyone and crying. It made Jonny laugh. Just you wait Jonny. Your pants poopin days are near!
It was so much fun. We definately can't wait to go back!

happy Birthday Mommy!

On the night of my birthday we went to a park with my cousin Angie and her family and Jared and Colleen. Oh and Krystal. It was fun except that Jonny decided to climb a tree with some older kids. I thought, "I really don't want to spend my birthday night in the ER." Lucky for us Jonny is an amazing climber. He was actually a lot higher than these pictures show the first time he climbed the tree.
Crazy boy! The part I love the most about this was that Brock had to climb the tree to get him down. It was funny.

One of our usual pitstops

We stop at a place near Eden Idaho (I think) on our way back from Utah. Which seems like once a week. It's an old playground at an RV park that the boys love. There's an old metal slide that could potentially cut Jonny's legs every time he slides down and a rickety teter-totter that Jonny has almost fallen off of a few times. Tommy likes to walk around and pick up the pine cones and eat them. Brock likes to throw the kiddies in the air while I take pictures. GCF! (Good clean Fun)

Hunsaker Family Reunion

The Hunsaker family reunion was at a cabin this year in the Timberlakes outside of Heber Utah. We celebrated the Fourth of July at a park and we saw amazing sunsets everynight. Every couple brought a game or an activity to share. Kristen set up a treasure hunt for the kids and Jonny still can't stop talking about it. My favorite part was the pedicure activity that Colleen brought. Brock and I brought kareoke. We definately saw a new side to Cory. He just might be the next American Idol. What a set of pipes! It was a blast!

row, row, row your boat..........

We took a Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago and went to eagle island state park. it was fun besides all of the garbage and dog poop everywhere. the boys loved it! (the water, not the dog poop.) we made a sand castle and i took pictures of the boys drifting in the raft and jonny being incharge of everyone.

PIctures of AAAHHHLASKA

I hope you can go to the link and see our pictures. I've never done this before, so I'm a little nervous.

AAAHHHHLASKA!!!!

Here we are in Alaska with another boat behind us. It was an exciting trip to begin with. There is something magical about being out on the water at night and everything in the distance is black. You can't really tell were the water ends and the sky begins. It was fun to see other cruise ships off in the distance at night as well. Their lights dancing on the water. It felt like the Titanic, but without the crappy ending. Oh, and there was definitely no Leo DiCaprio's on our boat. Maybe a couple of drunk Molly Browns. Most of the little towns in Alaska were all the same. 10 tourist shops worked in with at least 10 jewelry shops on the main drag. They say there is hardly any car theft because there is only about a 35 mile stretch of road in each town. We were at sea for a whole day then we woke up and we were in Juneau. We took a bus to Mendenhall Glacier. It was cool. There was little icebergs floating in the water and the biggest water fall I've ever seen. The glacier itself was kind of boring, I mean, come on, it's a glacier for crying out loud. The next day we woke up in Skagway. We took a bus ride up to the Yukon Territory, the White Pass Summit. That was actually b-e-a-utiful. I felt like I was on top of the world. The next day we were at sea aaallll dddaaayyy lllooonnngg! Finally on Friday we were in Ketchikan. Brock went fishing and I slept most of the day. I accidentally overdosed on my sea sick medicine which caused my vision to be blurry even with my contacts in! I couldn't sea (ha) a dang thing. So I had a headache because I felt like I was wearing someone else's glasses all day. As for Brock, he caught a 27 inch....fish. Don't ask me what kind because I have no idea. I know that it was 1 inch short of him being able to keep it. AH man! He was just happy to have had the chance to fish in Alaska. Every fisher mans dream. For the rest of that day and most of Saturday we were on the boat, again. We docked Saturday night and went to the most beautiful island I've ever been to, Victoria British Columbia. Oh my Gosh! There was the most gorgeous city park with ponds and lily pads and small streams and water falls and rock bridges and big pink flowers, green grass, huge over hanging trees and water fountains. I think it's been there since the late 1800's. The city is also breathtaking. The main part is close to the harbor and the sunset was amazing. There was a crazy person doing street theater. I really would not be surprised if I ever saw her on SNL someday. She was stinkin' funny. She was the typical Canadian, trying to be politically correct and every body's friend and not trying to offend anyone. Anyway. It was a fun trip. I missed the boys like crazy. By Friday I was so ready to go home. But we came home on Sunday. Just yesterday I told Brock, "I need a break!" He said, "you just had one for seven days!" All you mommy's out there know what I'm saying. Sometimes I just need like an hour by myself every couple of days where I don't have anyone following me into the bathroom or worry about Jonny feeding Tommy play dough and the having to clean up all the barf afterward (that just happened the other day, btw). I can't complain too much. We really are blessed. Life is good.

OOO, also Tommy took his 1st steps the other day! He'll be 9 months in a couple of days. We really weren't expecting this for at least another month or two. Anyway. It was exciting. Jonny was the funniest of all. When Brock and I were shouting "yeah Tommy! Good boy! Come on, you can do it," Jonny would try to cut in front of Tommy and say "look at me mama, I'm walking, look at me!" So of course we shouted "wow Jonny, look at you! Good Job!"

I'll try to post more pictures of the trip later. I'm having a hard time doing it for some reason. See all you Hunsaker's on the 4th and all you Root's on the 13th. We love you and even though we see you often, we miss you. Especially the free babysitting. HAHAHA. No really. We miss you. Have a great week.

Summer Time and the Livin's Easy!

Silver Creek Plunge

We camped at the Silver Creek Plunge this weekend. It has nice camp grounds and a really cool pool heated by hot springs. While we were there, we took a little hike. Jonny hiked ahead of us and waited for us near the top of a hill. When we caught up to him, he said as he pointed to a log on the trail, "Daddy take break. Mommy take a break. Let me tell you a story about fishing." It was the funniest thing I've ever heard him say. Brock and I looked at each other, trying not to laugh, and then sat down and listened to Jonny try to tell us a fishing story.
